The Year of the Rat

Happy new year to all!! This year, 2020, has such potent, positive energy. Personally, I’m feeling excited about the possibilities and opportunities that have already popped up and we’re only half way through January. Everything I’ve read about the new year and new decade, from Chinese mythology to numerology and tarot, seems to be in consensus - that this year will be a good one! The Chinese New Year falls on January 25th and below I’ll go into the details about what this year might hold according to the ancient theory.

Contrary to what we would think of in our culture, the rat is a very important animal according to the Chinese Lunar myths. It has some really interesting interpretations! The rat is the first of the animals in the Chinese zodiac and represents a lot of fortune and prosperity. It is a “yang” animal, so its energy is vibrant and new. Perfect for the start of a new year AND a new decade. Because of its association with wealth and surplus, I think it's a great time to get your vision boards ready…This year seems ripe for the manifestation of dreams and goals! Fun fact for all of our fertility patients: In Chinese culture, families would pray to the rat to bestow upon them children based on their reproductive abilities!

According to this website (use the hyperlink to make the words “this website” highlighted instead of listing the website: https://chinesenewyear.net/zodiac/rat/ ) this is a metal year as well, which means that the energy is stable and reliable. They even go so far as to say that metal rats can change unfortunate events into lucky ones!

All in all, it's looking like a pretty fun year. I’m excited to hear how these Chinese predictions for 2020 might be pertinent in your own life. What do you have on your docket for 2020? What goals are you manifesting? Come celebrate the Chinese New Year with us in the clinic!
