Finding Motivation (Again) at the Edge of 50
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about motivation - not the Pinterest quote kind, but the deep, internal kind that actually gets you up and moving when the couch is calling.
Truth? Mine had been a little MIA. Life has been full and busy, and somewhere in between “just making it through the week” and “someday I’ll get back on track,” I realized…I hadn’t felt that spark in a while.
But then something shifted. Maybe it’s the milestone birthday coming up (hello, 50!). Maybe it’s just time. But a little voice inside said: Let’s go. It’s time to take this seriously. Let’s feel GOOD.
Not “be perfect.” Not “start over.” Just…feel good in my body, my mind, my rhythms.
So I’m buckling down—not with restriction or pressure, but with intention. I’m re-committing to the habits that I know make a difference: consistent sleep, movement that I enjoy, real food, and the quiet practices that help my nervous system reset.
Because at this stage, it’s not about chasing an old version of myself - it’s about showing up fully for the woman I’m still becoming.
If you’ve been waiting for motivation to magically show up, maybe this is your invitation to create it. Start with one thing. One choice. One breath. You don’t need a Monday. You don’t need a whole plan. Just a decision to care a little more today.
I’m right there with you. Let’s do this - imperfectly, but wholeheartedly.
If you need a loving shove in the right direction, you know where to find me. 😉
